Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Abusive Relationship

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp's relationship was toxic, plain and simple. It's a fact that the Pirates of the Caribbean star once digitally tracked his ex-wife, and that Amber Heard has accused her former husband of domestic abuse.

The two actors began dating in 2011 and were married in 2015, at which point they co-starred in "The Rum Diary." After a brief engagement, they married on February 3rd 2015 in Los Angeles. However, their relationship had a rocky ending, as Heard filed for divorce in May 2016, alleging that Depp had been both physically and verbally abusive.

It's also a fact that Heard has made multiple self-serving claims over the years, including those previously mentioned allegations against Depp and a claim she made in 2010 that she had been sexually assaulted by a woman when she was 17.

In 2016, she said she was "accused of making up stories" after reporting her alleged sexual assault in an op-ed for The Washington Post titled, "I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture's wrath. That has to change."

Heard appeared to be alluding to her own situation with Depp but wrote, "I became a public figure representing domestic abuse." She continued, "And I felt the full force of our culture's wrath for women who speak out."

Months later, Heard retracted her claim about being sexually assaulted by a woman when she was 17, stating in court documents that there had been a misunderstanding about what happened with her friend.

Amber Heard was pictured stepping out in Los Angeles on Tuesday following Johnny Depp's explosive court filing which included an alleged video of the actress appearing to admit to beating him.

The 32-year-old actress cut a casual figure as she wore a loose-fitting tee shirt, athletic leggings and trainers.

Also on Tuesday, Depp's ex girlfriend Vanessa Paradis penned a letter in support of the actor, with whom she shares two children.

In the letter, obtained by People magazine, the French singer and actress, 47, detailed her experience with Depp and described him as 'sensitive' and 'his true self when he is in a family environment.'

Paradis wrote: 'I have known Johnny for more than 25 years. We've been partners for 14 years and we raised our two kids together. Through all these years I've known Johnny to be a kind, attentive, generous, and non-violent person and father.'

The former couple were together from 1998 until 2012.

Depp’s career began to take off after he was cast in the lead role in “21 Jump Street” when he was 20 years old. But before that stage in his life, Depp said he had been suicidal as a teenager, once drinking an entire bottle of whiskey and shooting himself in the arm with a .357 Magnum.

“It was either that or I was going to jump out the window,” he said, adding that he did not remember much from that night.

Depp has long been known for his deeply immersive acting style and method acting techniques. He has described acting “like therapy,” saying it gives him “an opportunity to go to places where I don’t think I could go without it.”
